In the Summer 1949, while at RAND, Quine worked on Arrow's (im)possibility theorem. This work was eventually published as a paper on (applied) set theory totally disconnected from social choice. We survey positive results on the nonemptiness of the core of voting games and explore other solutions concepts that are basic supersets of the core such as Rubinstein's stability set and two types of uncovered sets.
