Öğe Design of a robust guaranteed cost observer-based controller for linear uncertain systems(IEEE, 2018) Arikusu, Yilmaz Seryar; Parlakci, M. N. AlpaslanDaha fazla In this paper, a robust guaranteed cost observer-based state feedback controller design problem is studied for a class of linear uncertain systems with norm-bounded uncertainties. Employing the Lyapunov stability theorem, the criteria of robust stabilization are investigated within the framework of linear matrix inequalities (LMI). The feasibility problem of the stabilization criteria is solved using the technique of cone complementary minimization algorithm. Moreover, the minimization of the guaranteed cost is also obtained. Finally, two numeric examples are presented to illustrate the proposed stabilization which provides a considerable improvement.Daha fazla Öğe Extensively augmented Lyapunov functional approach for the stability of neutral time-delay systems(Inst Engineering Technology-Iet, 2008) Parlakci, M. N. AlpaslanDaha fazla The problem of stability for linear time-delay systems of neutral type is taken into consideration. A new extensively augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is introduced and a sufficient delay-dependent stability criterion is derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Utilisation of any model transformation method or any kind of bounding for the cross terms are avoided in the stability analysis. Moreover, in order to reduce the complexity of the solution of the LMI set, the proposed method does not also employ any free weighting matrix relaxation approach. Two numerical examples are illustrated to indicate the effectiveness of the proposed method.Daha fazla Öğe Improved robust stability criteria and design of robust stabilizing controller for uncertain linear time-delay systems(Wiley, 2006) Parlakci, M. N. AlpaslanDaha fazla In this paper, an improved linear matrix inequality (LMI)-based robust delay-dependent stability test is introduced to ensure a larger upper bound for time-varying delays affecting the state vector of an uncertain continuous-time system with norm-bounded-type uncertainties. A quasi-full-size Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is chosen and free-weighting matrix approach is employed. Less restrictive sufficient conditions are derived for robust stability of time-varying delay systems with norm-bounded-type uncertainties. Moreover, the investigation of the stabilization problem with memoryless state-feedback control is presented such that the stabilizability criteria are obtained in terms of matrix inequalities, which can be solved via utilizing a cone complementarity minimization algorithm. Finally, the problem of output feedback stabilization for square systems is also taken into consideration. The output feedback stabilizability criteria are derived in the form of linear matrix inequalities, which are convex and can be easily solved using interior point algorithms. A plenty of numerical examples are presented indicating that the proposed stability and stabilization methods effectively improve the existing results. AlpaslanDaha fazla This paper investigates the design of a robust static output feedback controller for a class of linear uncertain systems with norm-bounded time-varying parameter uncertainties. A descriptor type model transformation and the utilization of free weighting matrices are taken into consideration. A linear matrix, inequality approach is proposed to develop some sufficient conditions for the existence of a static output feedback controller. Numerical examples are used to demonstrate the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed methodology.Daha fazla Öğe On robust stability of uncertain neutral systems(IEEE, 2006) Parlakci, M. N. N. AlpaslanDaha fazla In this paper, a novel robust delay-dependent guaranteed cost controller is introduced for a class of uncertain nonlinear neutral systems with both norm-bounded uncertainties and nonlinear parameter perturbations. A neutral memory state-feedback control law is chosen such that a quadratic cost function is minimized. On the basis of a descriptor type model transformation, an augmented descriptor form Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is proposed in order to derive a linear matrix inequality (LMI) condition of the synthesis of a robust stabilizing guaranteed cost controller for uncertain nonlinear neutral systems. The descriptor approach is applied for both the delay-differential equation and the neutral difference operator allowing to introduce several additional free weighting matrices in order to obtain further relaxation in the synthesis process. The proposed method of introducing some relaxation into design problem also leads to develop LMI conditions which can be easily solved using interior point algorithms. Two numerical examples have been introduced to show the application of the theoretical results which indicate that the proposed approach improves the guaranteed cost performance. AlpaslanDaha fazla In this paper, the problem of robust delay-dependent guaranteed cost control for uncertain nonlinear neutral systems with time-varying state delay is investigated. The control law is chosen to be a memoryless type one. Neither any model transformation nor bounding of any cross terms are utilized. The system under consideration may be subjected to both norm-bounded uncertainties and nonlinear parameter perturbations. A delay-dependent sufficient condition is obtained in terms of a matrix inequality for which a cone complementarity problem is introduced to provide a feasible solution set. Two numerical examples have been demonstrated to show the effective application of the proposed method. Copyright (C) 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.Daha fazla Öğe Robust Delay-Dependent H? Control for Uncertain Structural Systems With Actuator Delay(Asme, 2012) Yazici, Hakan; Guclu, Rahmi; Kucukdemiral, Ibrahim B.; Parlakci, M. N. AlpaslanDaha fazla This paper is concerned with the design of a robust, state-feedback, delay-dependent H-infinity controller for an active vibration control of seismic-excited structural systems having actuator delay, norm bounded uncertainties, and L-2 disturbances. The norm bounded uncertainties are assumed to exist in variations of structural stiffness and damping coefficients. Based on the selection of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, first a bounded real lemma (BRL) is obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) such that the nominal, time-delay system is guaranteed to be globally asymptotically stable with minimum allowable disturbance attenuation level. Extending BRL, sufficient delay-dependent criteria are developed for a stabilizing H-infinity controller synthesis involving a matrix inequality for which a nonlinear optimization algorithm with LMIs is proposed to get feasible solution to the problem. Moreover, for the case of existence of norm-bounded uncertainties, both the BRL and H-infinity stabilization criteria are easily extended by employing a well-known bounding technique. Then, a cone complementary algorithm is also utilized to solve the nonconvex optimization problem. By use of the proposed method, a suboptimal controller with maximum allowable delay bound, uncertainty bound and minimum allowable disturbance attenuation level can be easily obtained by solving the proposed convex optimization technique. A four-degree-of-freedom uncertain structural system subject to seismic excitations is used to illustrate the effectiveness of the approach through simulations. Simulation results, obtained by using real time-history data of Kobe and Kocaeli earthquakes show that the proposed controller is very effective in reducing vibration amplitudes of storeys and guarantees stability at maximum actuator delay and parametric uncertainty bound. Alpaslan; Kucukdemiral, Ibrahim B.Daha fazla This paper studies the design problem of robust delay-dependent H-infinity controller for a class of time-delay control systems with time-varying state and input delays, which are assumed to be noncoincident. The system is subject to norm-bounded uncertainties and L-2 disturbances. Based on the selection of an augmented form of Lyapunov-Krasovskii (L-K) functional, first a Bounded Real Lemma (BRL) is obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) such that the nominal, unforced time-delay system is guaranteed to be globally asymptotically stable with minimum allowable disturbance attenuation level. A plenty of numerical examples are given to illustrate the application of the proposed methodology of this note. The achieved numerical results on the maximum allowable delay bound and minimum allowable disturbance attenuation level are exhibited to be less conservative in comparison to those of existing methods in the literature. N. AlpaslanDaha fazla The problem of stability of linear time-delay systems of retarded type is taken into consideration. A new extensively augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is introduced and some sufficient delay-dependent stability criteria are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Utilization of any model transformation method or any kind of bounding for the cross terms are strictly avoided in the stability analysis. Moreover, in order to reduce the complexity of the solution of the LMI set, the proposed method does not also employ any relaxation such as the recently given free weighting matrix approach. A numerical example is illustrated to indicate the effectiveness of the proposed method.Daha fazla
