This study is a pilot study that aims to examine the effects of EMDR 2.0 intervention on the symptoms of traumatic stress, depression and anxiety in individuals who have experienced an earthquake. The study included 50 participants over the age of 18 who experienced the psychological effects of the earthquake that occurred on February 6, 2023. The participants were randomly divided into two groups; EMDR 2.0 was applied to the experimental group, while no intervention was applied to the control group. The data collection tools used in the study included the Socio-Demographic Data Form, Depression-Anxiety-Stress Scale (DASS-21), Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Checklist (PCL-5) and Emotional Processing Scale (EPS). These scales were administered to the participants before and after the EMDR 2.0 application and the data obtained were statistically analyzed. The results of the study showed that EMDR 2.0 intervention provided a significant reduction in traumatic stress, depression and anxiety symptoms in the experimental group. These findings suggest that EMDR 2.0 may contribute positively to the psychological recovery process in individuals exposed to traumatic events such as earthquakes. The study aims to contribute to the literature by investigating the effectiveness of EMDR 2.0 and to raise awareness about post-earthquake mental health interventions in Turkey.
