The political economy of Mexicos relations with the USA and EU

Abstract

Bu tez, Meksika-ABD ekonomik ilişkileri ve Meksika'nın Avrupa Birliği'ne yönelik ekonomik çeşitliliğini tartışmak içindir. Meksika ekonomisinin ABD'ye olan açık bağımlılığı ve bu ülkelerin başkanlarının ilişkilerini nasıl şekillendirdiği ve değiştirdiği tartışılacaktır. Neo-liberalleşme kavramı, ülkelerin ekonomik büyümesi ve kalkınmasının üzerindeki etkisi ile Meksika-ABD arasında zaman içerisinde yapılan anlaşmalar tartışılacaktır. Böylelikle Avrupa Birliği tüm taraflara getirdiği faydalar ve olumsuzluklar ile esas olarak Meksika'nın ekonomik büyümesine odaklanıp, yakın bir pazardan dünya çapında önemli bir ihracat pazarı haline gelecektir. Ekonomik çeşitlilik, olası dış krizin kırılganlığını azaltacaktır, ancak bunu hedefleyecek net bir kılavuz olmadığı için başarısına bağlı olacak birçok faktör olacaktır. The explicit dependency that Mexico's economy has on the U.S.A will be discussed and how the presidents of those countries shaped and modified their relationships. The concept of neo-liberalization and the impact it has on the country's economic growth and development will be discussed, as well as the agreements made throughout time among Mexico-U.S. and European Union, the benefits, and negativities it brought to all parties, but mainly focusing on Mexico's economic growth, going from a close market to be a crucial exporting market around the globe. Economic diversification will have a reduction on the vulnerability of an external crisis, however, there are many factors that will depend on its success, as there is not a clear guide to aim it, but with the implementation of new agreements, this can be a way for it to work.
