Öğe INVISIBLE DOMINATION: AN ANALYSIS OF SYMBOLIC POWER AMONG WOMEN THROUGH THE FILM LAST PERFORMANCE(Deniz YENGİN, 2026) Çoban, İrem; Yildiz, SelahattinGender roles have long been shaped by cultural, political, and religious structures, often placing women in secondary positions within patriarchal societies. However, this inequality is not sustained by male dominance alone. It can also be reinforced by biases women direct toward one another. Through narrative analysis, this study examines how such intra-female prejudices are portrayed in a feminist film, drawing on feminist film theory. The short film Last Performance (2021) serves as the case study, focusing on the evolving relationship between Eda and Aysel. Their initial conflict, rooted in class/identity-based prejudice, gradually transforms into empathy. This emotional shift reveals the symbolic power struggles between women and invites critical reflection. Through its cinematographic language and narrative structure, the film invites viewers into a reflective experience. The study, which analyzes women's representations of other women through the lens of feminist film theory, aims to offer a critical perspective on the multilayered nature of relationships between women.
