(Springernature, 2025) Indiran, Logaiswari; Fu, Chen; Fahim, Noraindah Abdullah; Ishak, Ma Kalthum; Aslan, Mustafa
Eco-innovative methodologies are crucial for achieving sustainability by integrating environmental considerations into the innovation process. The study conducts a systematic literature review of eco-innovation methodologies, focusing on approaches such as life cycle assessment (LCA), environmental management systems (EMS), eco-design, and circular economy frameworks. Using Scopus-indexed journal articles from 2008 to 2024 (15 years), a total of 291 papers were initially retrieved, and 130 were selected based on relevance to eco-innovation methodology, peer-reviewed publication status, and language. Citation impact and methodological robustness were evaluated during the analysis phase, not as initial filters. The findings of this study highlight the evolution of eco-innovation research, the dominance of certain methodologies, and geographical research disparities. We critically assess the advantages, limitations, and industry applications of each methodology, contributing to the field by providing a comparative framework for future research. This study also identifies underrepresented yet promising methodologies such as Soft Systems Methodology (SSM), Causal Loop Diagrams (CLD), Sustainability Balanced Scorecard (SBSC), and Ecological Footprint Analysis, which may offer a broader comparative foundation for future research. Furthermore, recent advances in artificial intelligence (AI) applications are integrated into the discussion, illustrating how machine learning and data-driven tools are transforming life cycle assessment (LCA) modeling, real-time environmental management system (EMS) monitoring, and generative eco-design processes.

(Routledge Journals, Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2025) Aslan, Mustafa; Indiran, Logaiswari; Vivekananth, Sarasaran; Wiyata, Wiyata; Yanamandra, Ramakrishna; Kohar, Umar Haiyat Abdul; Quanzhen, Bao
Entrepreneurship education plays a crucial role in shaping university students' entrepreneurial intentions by equipping them with the cognitive, behavioral, and attitudinal competencies necessary for entrepreneurial engagement. This study investigates the effect of four key variables: entrepreneurship education, curriculum design, lecturer competency, and university support, on students' entrepreneurial intentions across five countries: Malaysia, T & uuml;rkiye, the UAE, Indonesia, and China. Utilizing a structured quantitative design, data were collected from 1,065 university students through a validated self-administered questionnaire. Exploratory factor analysis and multiple regression techniques were employed to examine the relationships between educational, demographic, and institutional factors. Findings from pooled and country-specific analyses reveal that university support is the most consistent and powerful predictor of entrepreneurial intention, followed by curriculum structure and entrepreneurship education. Lecturer competency, while statistically significant in some contexts, exhibited adverse or negligible effects, raising concerns about the pedagogical alignment between instruction and entrepreneurial relevance. Significant demographic predictors include gender, age, year of study, and prior business experience. However, the relative influence of these demographic factors varies across national contexts. Students with previous business experience consistently reported higher entrepreneurial intentions, particularly in Malaysia and China. Theoretically, the study expands the Theory of Planned Behavior by integrating educational inputs as antecedents to attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. Practically, it emphasizes the importance of experiential curricula, institutional support mechanisms, and instructor development in enhancing the outcomes of entrepreneurship education. Future research should adopt longitudinal and mixed-method designs to capture the evolving nature of entrepreneurial motivation across different educational ecosystems.

Leadership styles and work stress: the role of workplace climate and feelings of entrapment
(Springer, 2025) Aslan, Mustafa; Sonmez, Sinem; Deniz, Mehmet
Work stress negatively impacts employees' physical and mental health, contributing to conditions like burnout, anxiety, depression, and reduced productivity. This cross-sectional study examines how Charismatic, Autocratic, Democratic, and Laissez-Faire leadership styles influence work stress and feelings of entrapment, with workplace climate as a mediating factor. Data (N = 523) were collected using an online survey and analyzed via structural equation modeling with SmartPLS version 3.2.9. Findings reveal that Charismatic leadership improves workplace climate, reducing stress and entrapment. Democratic leadership indirectly reduces stress through its effect on workplace climate, while Autocratic leadership increases cooperation but elevates stress and entrapment. Laissez-Faire leadership harms workplace climate but does not significantly affect stress levels. The practical implications of these results are that organizational leaders and human resources professionals should consider adopting leadership styles that foster positive workplace climates to mitigate stress and improve employee well-being. However, the study is limited by its cross-sectional design and use of self-reported data, suggesting the need for future studies that adopt longitudinal research methods.

Metaverse Perception Scale Development and Validation
(Sage Publications Inc, 2025) Aslan, Mustafa; Sagtas, Saadet; Ozkaynar, Kursad
The metaverse, perceived as the next phase of the Internet, promises to transcend mere upgrades by integrating transformative technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and blockchain, which form the foundations of its structure. However, the absence of a standardized scale to assess perceptions of the metaverse poses a considerable limitation to studies in social science on this topic. This study developed a measurement tool that can be used in social science investigations to address this gap. Working with experts in the field, we created a pool of items encompassing six dimensions and 67 items. Exploratory factor analysis examined the data collected from 209 participants, and the confirmatory factor analysis assessed data from 247 participants. The proposed scale comprises 25 statements and six dimensions: (i) anxiety, (ii) education, (iii) entertainment, (iv) psychosocial effect, (v) knowledge-sharing, and (vi) business.

THE EFFECT OF JOB INSECURITY ON ORGANIZATIONAL TRUST DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC: EVIDENCE FROM THE AVIATION SECTOR
(Center Sociological Research, 2023) Sahin, Didem Rodoplu; Aslan, Mustafa; Cingoz, Kubra Nur
Due to the novel COVID-19, millions of workers in the aviation industry have lost their jobs, and most of the remaining employees experience unemployment anxiety. This study aims to investigate the effects of job insecurity on both managerial and organizational trust and the mediating role of unemployment anxiety in hopes of improving employees' well-being and promoting business continuity. In this cross-sectional study, the convenient sampling method was adopted. The research was conducted with the participation of aviation sector employees (n=210) of ground handling companies located in Turkiye. The Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLSSEM) was performed on the collected data for hypothesis testing. As per the results obtained from the study, quantitative job insecurity increases pessimism and adversely affects managerial trust and organizational trust (through managerial trust). Moreover, qualitative insecurity increases optimism, which adversely affects managerial trust. Managerial trust affects organizational trust positively. This study reveals that qualitative job insecurity led the employees to retain optimism but damaged both management and organizational trust during the COVID-19 pandemic. Quantitative job insecurity, on the other hand, caused pessimism and, as a result, affected managerial trust negatively.

The effect of the uniforms and attitudes of the flight attendants on passenger repurchase intention, and the mediating role of brand imagery and brand perception
(Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2025) Aslan, Mustafa; Gungor, Habibe; Onler, Busra
In a competitive airline industry, even small details, like the cabin crew's uniforms and demeanor, can significantly influence passenger loyalty, and hence, this study aims to reveal how the cabin crews' attitudes, behaviors, and uniforms shape passengers' loyalty through brand imagery and brand perception. The data was collected from airline passengers by utilizing the convenient sampling method. A total of 488 surveys out of 520 participants were included in the analyses conducted using Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) software. The results show that the appearances and attitudes of uniformed cabin crews significantly affect the repurchase intention, and while the brand perception only mediates the effect of attitudes on repurchase intention, the brand imagery both appearances and attitudes of uniformed cabin crews. Results suggest that airlines need to pay attention to both the attitudes and the appearance of the cabin crew to make the passengers feel that the airline is their own extent and, in return, to increase passengers' repurchase intention. Unlike previous studies, this research focuses on the interplay between visual branding through uniforms and passengers' psychological mechanisms driving loyalty explained by Social Identity Theory and Aesthetic Labor Theory. This research demonstrates the strategic role of cabin crew in creating a brand experience that is different but reflective of their own identity.

The Role of Eco-Innovation and Environmental Management Accounting in Fostering Performance Effect by Green Dynamic Capabilities in the Hotel Industry
(Mdpi, 2025) Acar, Avni Zafer; Acar, Pinar; Aslan, Mustafa; Yaylali, Ipek; Yilmaz, Onur Kemal
Despite growing attention to sustainability in the global tourism industry, empirical evidence explaining how internal organizational capabilities translate into superior environmental performance remains scarce-particularly in emerging markets. This study investigates the performance effects of green dynamic capabilities (GDC) in driving environmental performance in the hotel industry, with a particular focus on the mediating effect of eco-innovation (ECI) and the moderating effect of environmental management accounting (EMA). Although environmental sustainability in tourism has become a global imperative, limited empirical evidence exists on how internal capabilities and accounting practices jointly enhance hotels' green performance-particularly within emerging economies such as T & uuml;rkiye. Drawing on dynamic capabilities theory and resource orchestration perspectives, this study addresses this research gap by analyzing survey data collected from 108 managers of Green Key-certified hotels in T & uuml;rkiye. The developed research framework was tested through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS 4. The results reveal that GDCs positively influence environmental performance, and this relationship is significantly mediated by ECI. Moreover, EMA strengthens the positive effect of GDCs on ECI, highlighting its role as an enabling internal infrastructure. These findings suggest that the realization of sustainability outcomes depends not only on the presence of capabilities but also on how these are embedded within innovation processes and internal organizing systems. The study contributes to sustainability and management literature by offering a context-specific understanding of the capability-infrastructure-performance nexus and providing actionable insights for hotel managers in emerging tourism markets.
