dc.description.abstractBu çalışmanın amacı, Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar'ın metinlerinde örtük bir Cumhuriyet eleştirisine aracılık eden alegori kullanımının incelenmesidir. Bu doğrultuda, Fredric Jameson'ın bütün Üçüncü Dünya metinleri[nin] zorunlu olarak alegorik olduğu ve ulusal alegori olarak okunmaları? gerektiği yollu tezinden hareketle Tanpınar'ı alegori kullanımına sevk eden toplumsal-tarihsel nedenlerin izahına çalışılmaktadır. Tanpınar'ın alegorik eleştirisine konu olan veçheleriyle Osmanlı-Türkiye modernleşmesinin kısa bir izahı sunulmaktadır. Ardından, Tanpınar'ın edebi metinlerinde karşılaşılan çağdaş alegori kullanımından yola çıkarak klasik alegoriden farklı özellikler gösteren çağdaş alegoriye ilişkin yeniden tanım çabalarına yer verilmektedir. Tanpınar estetiğinin ulusal alegori niteliğinin açımlanması, çağdaş edebi söylemde daha çok estet kimliğiyle ve eserlerinin estetik biçim özellikleriyle öne çıkan yazarın estetik biçime ve edebiyata nasıl bir toplumsal-siyasal eleştiri gücü atfettiğini anlamak açısından aydınlatıcı olacaktır.en_US
dc.description.abstractThe aim of the present study is to investigate the use of allegory in Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar's fiction, which yields to a critique of the historically traumatizing national and cultural policies carried out by the Republican regime. In this line, the social and historical reasons driving the writer to the use of allegory are tried to be explicated in accordance with Fredric Jameson's thesis that ?all third world texts are necessarily allegorical, so that ?they are to be read as what [he] calls as national allegories. That aspects of the Imperial and Republican modernization that are subjected to the allegorical criticism of the writer are presented within a historical narrative. Given that the modern use of allegory encountered in Tanpınar's fiction displays different characteristics than that of classical allegory, the theoretical endeavours to redefine the modern use of allegory are depicted. The explication of the national allegorical aspect of the aesthetic of Tanpınar, a wirter particularly brought to the fore with his aesthete identity and the exclusively aesthetic-formal qualities of his works in contemporary literary discourse, can be illuminating in how the writer attributes a powerful socio-historical and critical function to aesthetic form and to literature.en_US
