| dc.description.abstract | This article focuses on the potential of the lumbung practice presented at documenta 15, serving as a crucial catalyst for reassessing the structures of art institutions and their relationship with society. The article explores how lumbung offers a unique perspective on challenging existing power dynamics within art institutions and how this practice can foster alternative models. Lumbung served as a framework pointing towards future collective practices grounded in principles of sustainability, equitability and community-oriented approaches to resource allocation, production and distribution. The article emphasizes the urgent need for Istanbul’s art scene to draw inspiration from collective sharing practices like lumbung.
