dc.description.abstractTekno korku gemellikle toplumun teknolojik ilerlemelere karşı içsel korku ve kaygılarını yansıtan bir tür olarak değerlendirilir. Hızla gelişen iletişim teknolojileri ve dijital ortamın getirdiği korku ve endişeler film endüstrisinin hikayelerine entegre edilmektedir Bu tez, dijital ortamın doğaüstü varlıklar için bir portal olarak sinematik tasvirlerini ve evrilen teknokorku türünün alanını keşfetmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Kairo (2001) ve Unfriended (2014) filmleri, içerik ve tür analizi yoluyla incelenmiş, medya çalışmaları, teknokültür ve korku türünden teorik çerçevelerden yararlanılmıştır. Analiz, doğaüstü güçlerin internete yönelik toplumsal kaygıları sembolize ettiğini ortaya koymaktadır. Kairo'daki hayaletler izolasyonu ve aşırı çevrimiçi bağımlılığın risklerini temsil ederken, Unfriended çevrimiçi etkinliklerimizin kalıcı etkisini sergiler. Çalışma ayrıca çevrimiçi platformların ve gençlerin dijital dünyadaki katılımının, İnternet'in ilk günlerinden bugüne kadar değişen dinamiklerini ortaya çıkarır. Çevrimiçi korkunun evrilen manzarasını, sanal mekanın tasvirini ve genç kültürü üzerindeki etkilerini tartışmaya açan çalışma aynı zamanda internete yönelik toplumsal kaygıları görünür kılarak sorumlu dijital katılımın gerekliliğine vurgu yapar.
dc.description.abstractTechno horror is perceived as a genre reflecting society's inner fears and anxieties towards technological advancements. With the rapid development of communication technologies and the interconnected digital world, these fears are integrated into the narratives of the movie industry. This thesis explores the cinematic depictions of the digital environment as a portal for supernatural entities in the evolving domain of techno (digital) horror genre. The movies of Kairo (2001) and Unfriended (2014) are analyzed through content and genre analysis, drawing on theoretical frameworks from media studies, technoculture, and the horror genre. The analysis reveals how supernatural forces symbolize societal anxieties towards the Internet through historically changing dynamics of online platforms and youth engagement in the digital realm. The ghosts in Kairo represent isolation and the risks of excessive online reliance, while Unfriended displays the permanent effect of our activities online. The thesis opens a discussion on the evolving landscape of online horror, the representation of cyberspace, and the effects on youth culture by underscoring the societal anxieties towards the Internet and the need for responsible digital engagement.
