Özet

This chapter presents the case of Pamir, a 9-year-old boy who received mentalization-based treatment for children (MBT-C) at Istanbul Bilgi University Psychotherapy Centre. Pamir exhibited epistemic vigilance, emotional dysregulation, and an underdeveloped capacity for mentalization due to early trauma. The chapter explores interventions that enhance self-awareness, regulate arousal, and foster agency through play therapy. The treatment incorporated parental involvement and cultural considerations, emphasizing structure and flexibility. Therapist supervision played a crucial role in maintaining a mentalizing stance. The study highlights MBT-C’s efficacy in improving emotional regulation, relational security, and overall well-being in children with developmental trauma. © 2025 selection and editorial matter, Nicole Muller, Emma Morris, and Nick Midgley; individual chapters, the contributors.
