Özet
ÖZET: Bu çalışma, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin empatik eğilim düzeylerini ve problem çözme becerilerini değerlendirmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Yöntem: Çalışmanın evrenini 2017- 2018 eğitim öğretim yılında bir üniversitede lisans eğitimi gören hemşirelik öğrencileri oluşturmuştur. Herhangi bir örnekleme yöntemine başvurulmayıp çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden bütün öğrenciler çalışma kapsamına alınmıştır. Çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden öğrencilere tanımlayıcı özellikleri içeren form, Empatik Eğilim Ölçeği ve Problem Çözme Envanteri uygulanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde yüzdelik, ortalama, Kruskall Wallis Varyans Analizi, Mann Whitney-U testleri ve Spearman korelasyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Hemşirelik Bölümü öğrencilerinin yaş ortalaması 20.91 ± 2.25’dır. Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin Empatik Eğilim puan ortalaması 68.68±8.78, Problem Çözme Envanteri puan ortalamaları 96.12±20.27 olarak saptanmıştır. Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin problem çözme kişisel kontrol alt boyut puanı 20.85±3.43, problem çözme yeteneğine güven alt boyut puanı 31.08±9.81, yaklaşma/kaçınma alt boyut puanı 47.76±10.83 olarak saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin empatik eğilimleri ortanın üzerinde, problem çözme becerileri orta düzeyde olarak belirlendi. Bu bağlamda hemşire öğrencilerin problem çözme ve empatik eğilimlerini geliştirici eğitim programlarının hemşirelik eğitimi sırasında kullanılması, problem çözme becerilerinin ve empati düzeylerinin artmasına katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.
ABSTRACT: Object: The study was performed to determine the empathic tendency level and problem solving skills of nursing students. Methods: The study population consisted of undergraduate nursing students of a university during the 2017-2018 academic year. Any specific sampling method was not determined and only the voluntary students was enrolled in the study. The data of research were gathered by using an information document including descriptive feature of the students and Empathic Tendency Scale and Problem Solving Inventory. Data were analysed by using SPSS 23.0 package program. In the analysis of data percentage, mean, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruscall Wallis variance analysis and Spearman correlation were used. Results: The average age of the students in the Department of Nursing is 20.91 ± 2.25’dır. Nursing students’ Empathic Tendency average score was determined 68.68±8.78. Students’ problem-solving inventory mean score was 96.12±20.27, personal control subscale mean score was 20.85±3.43, reliance subscale mean score was 31.08±9.81, convergence/avoidance subscale mean score was 47.76±10.83. Conclusion: Nursing students’ empathic tendency level and problem solving skill level was found as moderate. It was concluded that the use of training programs to develop problem solving and empathy tendencies during nursing education will improve problem solving skills and empathy tendencies among nursing students.
