Öğe A Poststructuralist Aproach to EU-Turkey Relations: Foreign Policy and Discourse Analysis in the Case of Germany(Uluslararasi Iliskiler Konseyi Dernegi, 2011) Duzgit, Senem AydinIn line with the poststructuralist approach that theorises identity as relationally constructed through discourse, the purpose of this article is to shed light on the different visions of Europe that are constructed in debates on Turkey's accession to the EU among German politicians. The article focuses on the political party debates on Turkish accession in Germany, a key member state in EU integration and the debate on Turkish membership to the EU, and subjects them to critical discourse analysis. European Commission Officials on the Selves and Others(Sage Publications Inc, 2011) Suvarierol, Semin; Duzgit, Senem AydinWith its institutional motto of unity in diversity, the European Union (EU) officially embraces a cosmopolitan outlook This article argues that this motto becomes reality within the institutions of the EU as the officials undergo a cosmopolitan transformation process by experiencing cultural diversity on a daily basis. This cosmopolitanism, however, is not without limits. The discussions on Turkey's EU candidacy are a case in point.
