Özet

This vocabulary-building activity is derived from the official glossary of documenta 15. It encompasses three sets of vocabulary, namely grounding, rooting and standing. These vocabulary sets are drawn from the words and deeds of the participants from the summer school in Kassel, coordinated by Zeppelin University in partnership with CAMP Notes on Education of documenta 15, as well as the subsequent workshop in Friedrichshafen at Zeppelin University. This glossary project primarily focuses on forming a sense of community among previously unacquainted individuals. It is shaped by the principles of lumbung and the idea of nongkrong, as proposed by ruangrupa, the Indonesian collective serving as the curator of documenta 15. Grounding emphasizes team building for co-learning, using tacit knowledge as a foundation. Rooting deals with issues of (in)justice, epistemic inequalities and the notion of care, exemplified by some of the works presented at documenta 15. Standing then focuses on transforming the concepts developed during the grounding and rooting phases into statements that address colonialist, capitalist and patriarchal structures in art practices and cultural institutions. © 2025 selection and editorial matter, Meike Lettau and Özlem Canyürek individual chapters, the contributors.
