Afet sonrası iyileşme: Yetişkinler için afet sonrası çocukların ruhsal iyilik halini destekleme çalışma kitabının Hatay ilinde etki değerlendirmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Akal ve Harrison (2023) tarafından geliştirilen ve 6 Şubat 2023 tarihinde Türkiye depremlerinden etkilenen 6–12 yaş arası çocuklar ve bakımverenleri için 'eş-düzenleme' (co-regulation) yaklaşımına dayanan travma bilgili "Afet Sonrası İyileşme: Yetişkinler ve Çocuklar İçin Bir Rehber ve Çalışma Kitabı"nın uyarlanması ve etki değerlendirmesinin yapılmasıdır.Çeviri, yeniden çeviri, bakımverenlerle yapılan bireysel görüşmeler ve uzman rehberliğinde gerçekleştirilen kitap uygulaması sürecinde elde edilen geri bildirimlere dayanarak, her bir ifade ve görsele yönelik bir uyarlama çalışması yürütülmüştür.Dört fazdan oluşan etki değerlendirmesinde, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler ve gözlemlerin veri kaynağı olarak kullanıldığı nitel bir araştırma yöntemi olan yorumlayıcı fenomenolojik analiz (Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis - IPA) kullanılmıştır. Görüşmeler araştırmacı tarafından deşifre edilmiş; ana temalar ve alt temalar belirlenmiştir.Her fazda üç ana tema belirlenmiştir: 1-Kitabı tamamlayan katılımcılar teması (alt temalar: ebeveynlik becerilerinin gelişimi, çocuğunu tanıma ve duygularını anlama, çocuk merkezli yaklaşım becerileri kazanımı ve karşılıklı öğrenme, anne-çocuk bağının güçlenmesi, güven, başkalarına önerme isteği, duygusal ve bilişsel kazanım, travmatik stres tepkilerini anlamlandırmaya bağlı rahatlama, yas yaşantısı), 2- Kitabı yarım bırakan katılımcıların teması (alt temalar: kitaba ihtiyaç duymadığını düşünme, dikkat dağınıklığı ve unutkanlık, güvenilir bir eşlikçiye ihtiyaç duyma, elverişsiz fiziksel koşullar, eş ile aynı ortamda olmama, çocukta ve bakımverende yoğun stres tepkilerinin devamı), 3- Kitaba hiç başlamayan katılımcıların teması (alt temalar: bakımveren ve çocukta görülen akut ve kronik stres tepkileri).Elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda, çalışma kitabı, afet öncesi dönemden itibaren bakımverene bağ kurmuş biri tarafından ve rutine entegre, hedef odaklı bir yaklaşımla uygulandığında, bakımverenin ve çocuğun travmatik stres tepkilerini normalleştirmeye yönelik toplum temelli bir müdahale aracı olarak kullanılabilir.The aim of this research is the adaptation and impact assessment of Post-Disaster Recovery; A Guide and Workbook for Children and Adults based on the trauma-informed approach developed by Akal and Harrison (2023) based on the 'co-regulation' approach for children aged 6-12 years and their caregivers affected by the earthquakes that occurred in Turkey on February 6, 2023. An adaptation study was conducted for each statement and visual based on the feedback obtained during translation, retranslation, individual interviews with caregivers, and expert-guided book implementation. In the impact evaluation, which consisted of four phases, interpretative phenomenological analysis, a qualitative research method in which semi-structured interviews and observations were the data source, was used. The researcher transcribed the interviews, and the main themes and sub-themes were determined. Three main themes in each phase; 1- The theme of participants who completed the book (sub-themes; development of parenting skills, getting to know their child and understanding their feelings, gaining child-centered approach skills and mutual learning, strengthening the mother-child bond, trust, desire to recommend to others,emotional and cognitive gain, relaxation due to making sense of traumatic stress reactions, experiencing grief) 2- The theme of participants who left the book unfinished (sub-themes; believing that they did not need the book, distraction and forgetfulness, need for a trustworthy person to accompany them, unfavorable physical conditions, not being in the same environment with their spouse, continuation of intense stress reactions in the child and caregiver), 3- The theme of participants who did not start the book (sub-themes; acute and chronic stress reactions of the caregiver and child). Based on the findings, the workbook can be used as a community-based intervention tool to normalize the traumatic stress reactions of the caregiver and the child when implemented through someone who has connected with the caregiver since the predisaster period and with a goal-oriented approach integrated into the routine.
