The widespread use of especially solar, wind, geothermal and biomass investments for electricity generation coincides with the Paris Climate Agreement and the European Green Deal Act decarbonization targets and is supported by the whole world now. Green hydrogen can produce from renewable energy sources; it has been attracting attention recently because it is more environmentally friendly and in line with decarbonization targets. Geothermal power plants have the highest capacity factor among renewable energy plants, and they are systems that can produce electricity all day long without interruption. In this study, a perspective towards green hydrogen production from geothermal power plants is discussed with the Kızıldere geothermal power plant (GPP) in Denizli, Turkey. This concept study is proposed for hydrogen production by Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) type fuel cell at multi-flash geothermal power plants. © 2022 Proceedings of WHEC 2022 - 23rd World Hydrogen Energy Conference: Bridging Continents by H2.
