dc.description.abstractNetflix Türkiye yerel stratejileri nedeniyle içeriklerinde tektipleşmenin ve kültür sömürüsünün ötesine geçememektedir. Ayrıca, Türk kültürünü egzotik bir ürün haline getirmektedir. Çalışma, Netflix Türkiye'nin ekonomik ve kültürel stratejilerinin ne olduğu ve bu stratejilerin Netflix Türkiye'nin üretim pratiklerini ve yerel içeriğini nasıl şekillendirdiği araştırmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, eleştirel söylem analizi ve tematik analiz kullanılarak; yerel hikayeler, efsaneler, mistisizm ve süper kahramanlar içeren bilim kurgu dizileri olan Hakan Muhafız, Atiye, Şahmaran dizilerinde hangi kültürel unsurların kullanıldığına ve ne tür anlamların inşa edildiğine odaklanılmaktadır. Ayrıca, seçilen dizilerin yönetmenleri ve platformun içerik stratejisti ile yapılan derinlemesine görüşmeler tematik analiz yöntemiyle tartışılmaktadır. Yalnızca içeriği inceleyip bir sonuca varmaya çalışmaktan ziyade, içeriğe etki eden aktörlerin bakış açılarını anlamak amaçlanmaktadır. Tüm bu tartışmalar ışığında, tez Netflix Türkiye'nin yerel ve küresel stratejilerinin bir sonucu olarak spiritüalizmden faydalandığını; platformun ekonomik çıkarları nedeniyle içeriklerinin aynı türdeki diğer yapımlardan farklılaşmadığını göstermektedir. İçeriklerindeki turistik ve kültürel unsurlar, küresel izleyiciye pazarlanacak bir meta haline gelmektedir.
dc.description.abstractDue to its local strategies, Netflix Türkiye cannot go beyond standardization and exploitation of culture in its content. Also, it turns Turkish culture into an exotic product. This study investigates the economic and cultural strategies of Netflix Türkiye and how these strategies shape Netflix Türkiye's production practices and local content. Using critical discourse analysis and thematic analysis, this study focuses on what kind of cultural elements are used and what meanings are constructed in The Protector (Hakan Muhafız), The Gift (Atiye), Shahmaran (Şahmaran), which are science fiction series containing local stories, legends, mysticism, and superheroes. Also, findings of the in-depth interviews with the directors of the selected series and the Netflix Türkiye's Content Strategist are discussed through thematic analysis. Rather than just examining the content and trying to reach a conclusion, the aim is to understand the perspectives of the actors who have an impact on the content. Consequently, the study demonstrates that while Netflix Türkiye benefits from spiritualism as a result of its local and global strategies, the series does not differ from other productions of the same genre because of its economic interest. The touristic and cultural elements in their content become a commodity to be marketed to a global audience.
